Hello there, welcome to my blog! My names is Fran Julien. I am currently a student at the University of South Florida. I am majoring in Elementary Education. More specifically, I am a part of a wonderful program in the USF College of Education, the Urban Teacher Residency Partnership Program. This program allows me to have hands on experience in the elementary school classroom while taking courses to enhance my learning on the practice of being an educator. As an educator, one important thing that I have learned throughout participating in this program over the past year is that reflection and inquiry are two big components to a teacher's practice. The only way to become better at what you do is to constantly reflect and inquire on your practice. Especially in the classroom, as things change daily and not one student is the same, reflection and inquiry are two things that push me forward in the direction to improving on my practice daily.
This blog will give you an up close and personal look into my life as a elementary education college student and an intern in the classroom. My journey begins as a level I intern and has extended to what I am learning and experiencing today as a level III intern. I will present my experiences in the classroom, my learnings based on reflection and inquiry, and even lesson ideas. Come join me in the journey to see how I teach and how I learn!
